CSD Email instructions for CSD Webmail

Note: for quick Webmail help for common tasks, please click this link to go to the How do I...? section at the bottom of this page,

1. Go to http://www.csd.net in your browser. Once the page is loaded, scroll to the bottom, and click "Webmail"

 

2. This will take you to the gateway to the WebMail system. We recommend clicking "Jump direct to Secure Webmail." (This is important if you are on a public computer.)

3. On the Webmail login page, enter your username and password, then click the "log in" button. (These three items are marked in red below.)

Your username is usually the first part of your email address. For example, if you email address is "jane@boulder.net", your username is "jane"

4. Once you have logged in, you will see the main screen of the Webmail, shown here with various items highlighted (Scroll down for an explanation):

Main Menu: This gives you access to your Inbox, allows you to compose new messages, and offers you other email management features, such as folders and preferences.

Page Number: Your messages are listed 10 at a time. This tells you what page you are on. The small right arrow takes you to the next page, and the small left arrow takes you to the previous page. The large arrows with the black lines take you to the first page or to the last page of messages.

Message Subject: Click either the Subject or who the message is From in order to read the full message. When you are finished, click "Inbox" on the Main Menu to return to the message listing.

 How do I...?

• Write a new email - Click "Compose" in the Main Menu, and a new window will open. Fill in the email address of the person you want to send email to, and click "Send" after you have finished writing your message.
• Delete a message - Deleting a message is a 3 step process.
  1. Put a check in the checkbox next to any messages you wish to delete
  2. Click "Delete" - this marks those messages for deletion
  3. Click "Expunge" - this removes deleted messages completely from your inbox.
• Reply/Forward an email - Open the message from the main message list by clicking on the person's name or by clicking on the subject of their message. Then, you can click on "Reply" or "Forward" from the menu at the top of the message.
• Send an Attachment - Click "Compose" to start a new message, and click the "Browse" button (underneath the "Subject" blank). From the browse window, select the file you want to attach, then click "OK". Then click the "Attach" button to upload the file to the server. (This may take several minutes if the file is large and you are on dialup.)
• Download an Attachment - Open the message from the main message list by clicking on the person's name or by clicking on the subject of their message. Then, look for the section of the message labeled "Attachments". Click the blue/white "disk" icon next to the attachment you want to download. You will then be prompted to Save or Open the attachment. Choose "Save", select the place on your computer where you want to save the file, then click "OK".
